but I like this more than those bands for some reason.
It's probably becuase they have a female vocalist,
which works better with this style I guess.
It's also a bit more upbeat with these vocals,
almost like an indie pop band

For Want Of is a thrashy screamo band from Austin, Texas
and feature members of Chest Pain and probably many other bands.
Besides the old school emo influence (shown by their name),
they take a technical guitar style from Hot Cross and Drive Like Jehu,
but also have that fast hardcore speed and intensity.
They have three vocalist, each providing a different style.
One does a shouting, another sings, and another does higher pitched screams, and each is featured pretty evenly on each track.
The lyrics seem to deal with death, being bummed, and wanting a better future.
Definitely a band to get you stoked on the future of screamo.

Its been a long time since I made a screamo post, and the band that goes along with the screamo comeback is named innards.They hail from Ft. Worth and features members of Jubilee, Zwounds and Nouveux Riches.
They play a very harsh, chaotic style of screamo, but also take the time to include sweet noodly parts, that are as well written as everything else, even more so on the new full length. The drumming is super chaotic and all over the place, and its awesome.
On the demo there's more parts of fast screamo intensity, and featured a high pitched "jeromes dream style" screamer, but the other vocalist is super emotional, and does more of a yell.
The full length features only the emotional vocalist and it still sounds amazing, along with only having one vocalist they include many more noodly parts, but still have all the chaos and intensity.
Each release also features one sing-along song, but its all good to sing along to

They are looking for help to put out their full length out on 10"

Football, etc. is an indiemo band from Houston, Texas.
The band features Lindsay and Mercy of Tin Kitchen from NJ.
They are very often compared to 90's emo legends such as
American Football, Rainer Maria, and Mineral,
but they also add something to the sound that you dont hear often.
I dont know if its the basslines, fun and energetic,
Lindsay's singing and her twinkly picking and lively strumming parts,
or maybe its the entire function, the group as whole.
But maybe still its just the football jokes.

Super fun punk. That's all I'm saying.
Jeff Rosenstock leads the band as the main songwriter/producer
and makes sure they stick to a heavy DIY ethic.
everything from free downloads to cheap all ages shows where you can play with them.
They play somewhat a mix of pop punk, ska, and hardcore punk,
while also including keyboards and a more melodic indie nature.
Most of the songs are fun, fast, and are awesome sing-alongs,
some have slower parts but usually have a fun climax/chorus.
The lyrics range from jobs to things they hate more than jobs.

I'm posting one of my best friends bands.
and one of my favorite bands.
Diving is a math pop band from Austin, TX.
This is their first release "Places and the Objects You Find There"
It's all twinkly and fun sounding. Sometimes it's hard not to dance
Every track has lots of dynamic changes, something I'm a huge sucker for.
The vocals are really calm and soothing,
both vocalists sound great.
The best part about them is the tapping parts,
extremely catchy rhythms and really pretty sounding,
all of it is.

OSA was a bunch of 15 year old kids from NJ.
They we're one of the more recent bands to have been,
influenced majorly by Merchant Ships,
although they have a sound more like,
Footnotes mixed with some Empire! Empire!,
then throw in some Midwest Pen Pals.
It's nothing super twinkly though,
seeing as they dont use alternative tunings,
but it still works.
Lyrics are catchy as fuck and full of angst.
The vocalist mostly does clean vocals,
but every once and awhile you get a scream.
I've been singing along since I first heard this.

Anyways, Perfect Future is an Emo band from Maryland.
They have a mix of sounds including
hard rock, indie, and post-punk,
there's also some parts that are pretty skramz.
This is one of my favorite albums I've heard in a while.
and it's really worth checking out.
Their newer stuff is going to be less twinkly,
and focus more on the heavy parts.
They're really nice dudes and are hilarious,

Holy shit! I love this band.

Portrait was a screamo band from Georgia.
They lasted from 1996 to 2001
For the most part it's pretty much just 90's emo,
with all those sweet melodic parts,
and all those hardcore parts.
but even during those harder parts,
there's still a melodic guitar, intense drumming,
and a viola to top it all off
Vocals are some of my favorites,
and their lyrics got better as they progressed.
Sometimes he sings and its so heartbreaking.

Wow,

This band is everything good about emo,
One of the best ever.
They make indie-ish screamo.
Vocals are really desperate.
It's undistorted, has cool bass riffs,
and they have an awesome drummer.
The perfect balance of melody and chaotic skraming.

These guys formed in June 2008,
Released some stuff and played shows.
then in February I found out about these guys.
They broke up in May.
Formed a new more bands that failed,
Including Midwest Penpals.
Then got back together.
I was overjoyed when I heard the news,
They will be recording a NEW demo.
They also said they're might be a tour.

Played a reuninon show in 2008.
They rerecorded a lot of stuff and the rawer stuff is really good
